Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, I currently accept the following plans: Aetna, Cigna, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, and United Healthcare.

However, it is very important that you verify your mental health benefits with your insurance provider before your first session. Every plan is different, and you are ultimately responsible for the full cost of services, whether or not they are covered by your insurance.

What can I expect from therapy sessions with you?

Therapy starts with an initial intake session, which is a one-time appointment lasting about 50–60 minutes. This session helps us get to know each other and allows me to gather important information about your history, concerns, and goals. It also helps determine whether my services are the right fit for your needs. Please note: the intake session is not a confirmation of ongoing services, it’s an evaluation to determine medical necessity. If therapy is recommended following the intake, we will work together to decide on a plan that aligns with your needs and goals. The frequency and duration of sessions will be based on clinical guidelines and medical necessity, and may vary from person to person. My goal is to provide supportive, evidence-based care that truly meets you where you are.

Are sessions in person or virtual?

Right now, all sessions are offered virtually using a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. This makes it easier and more convenient for you to access support from the comfort of your own space. According to regulations, licensed counselors can provide virtual therapy only if it meets the same standard of care as in-person sessions. That means I’m committed to making sure the support you receive online is just as effective, thoughtful, and professional as if we were sitting together in an office. Many clients find this flexibility helpful in fitting therapy into their lives, whether you’re at home, on your lunch break, or anywhere private. If you're wondering whether virtual sessions will work well for you, I’d be happy to talk it through and help you decide what feels right.

What kind of clients do you work with?

I specialize in working with motivated adults navigating life transitions, managing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and seeking deeper self-understanding through a trauma-informed, Inner Family Systems informed, and psychodynamic lens. Utilizing evidence-based approaches such as CBT,  DBT, and SFT alongside these frameworks, I support clients in challenging unhelpful thoughts, exploring unconscious patterns, and healing past wounds to foster greater self-worth, autonomy, and emotional resilience. My work is best suited for clients who are ready to actively engage in therapy and committed to meaningful, transformative growth.

I may work with adolescents aged 13 to 17 on a case-by-case basis when appropriate.

How do I get started?

If you’re interested in exploring therapy with me, I’d love to connect. The best way to start is by scheduling a 15 minute consultation to first see if we are a good match and if so, then schedule an initial intake session. From there, we will talk about what the next steps might look like for your journey. Feel free to reach out with any questions, I’m here to help, and I look forward to supporting you.
